2 of 3

This weekend was the second of three weddings we're in for this summer.

Wes and I attended Jamie and Nathan's wedding Seaside, OR. We arrived around lunch time, checked into our hotel and headed down the Prom to grab a bite to eat. It was a beautiful day and there were LOTS of people at the beach flying kites, playing volleyball and playing in the sand.

Half of Seaside stopped what they were doing to watch the ceremony.

The wedding party marched out onto the beach sans footwear.

It was a beautiful ceremony. John, a good friend of the couple, was really good officiant. He made us laugh, but also managed to make me tear up a couple of times. He also slapped a pair of handcuffs on the couple once they were pronounced husband and wife.

Now, there were a couple of interesting things that happened at the reception. First of all, the couple made their entrance to the theme from the Muppet Show, they had a first dance routine, and the wedding party had to do the chicken dance. There was lots of dancing that night, but the DJ was a little... dizzy. I don't know how else to put it. He played a lot of songs that no one wanted to dance to. The tempos were all over the place and some songs were just not dance-able.

After the reception, a huge group of us went to Dundee's for a couple of drinks--literally. We were only there for about 45 minutes because they closed at midnight. Not much of a night scene in Seaside =) We finally ended up at the Shilo for more dancing and closed that place down.

But, of course, we were still having fun. So we decided we wanted to have a bonfire on the beach. Luckily, we met a guy who had already built a fire and allowed us to crash it in exchange for a couple of beverages. He had a djembe drum, which was pretty cool. Christina, Larry and John each took turns playing it.

At 4 am, people decided that they wanted to hit the hot tub at the Shilo. I was done at that point, so we made our way back to our hotel. All in all, it was a good time.
