Actually, not this giant thing. Just the top tier.

At the reception, Roy asked me if we wanted to save the top tier and I said no. Our freezer is the place where food goes to die. Things turn into blocks of ice that can only be identified by the pictures on the packages. I just couldn't imagine wanting to eat our wedding cake on our one year anniversary.

(BTW, these were the same flowers used for the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres.)
Anyway, I'm sort of glad that the Alderbrook ignored me and sent us home with the top tier. I'm hoping it's carrot cake with cheesecake filling. It was the best carrot cake I'd ever eaten. The other flavor was marble cake with whipped ganache and caramel buttercream fillings. Also excellent, but the carrot was definitely my favorite.
At the one month mark, the most frequently asked question: So how's married life?
Wes says, "you know how it is."
I say, "same ol' thing. Except now my husband does yard work."
Ha ha ha. If we're this enthusiastic about it now, I can only imagine what this conversation will be like on our one year anniversary.
So how's married life?
Wes predicts he'll say, "it's the same."
I think I'll say...
Happy month-iversary! Can't believe how fast time flies by!
