pumpkin carving

Yes, I know it's only October 4 and Halloween is still 4 weeks away, but Wes and I have pumpkins :)

We went to a pumpkin carving birthday party for Marc this past weekend.  I had no idea you could even buy carving pumpkins yet.  Wes and I always wait until the very last minute to carve ours... like Halloween day.  Anyway, we usually just start hacking our own designs, but this time there were patterns at the party and we both ended up choosing ghosts.  What you can't see from the pictures is how neat Wesley's pumpkin is.  My pumpkin is pretty stringy and shaggy.  hehe

Of course, a handful of people decided not to carve pumpkins because they'll be moldy and gross before Halloween.  And the second wave of carvers were still hard at work by the time the hubby and I left.  I'm thinking we'll have to carve a couple more closer to the 31st :)
